Cubs Year of Adventure 2015
This year (2015) has been designated the year of adventure by The Scout Association for Cubs. Howden Cubs have taken this challenge and have loads of adventurous activities for Cubs to get stuck into this year.
Activities are being added all the time so keep your eye on the website and your emails to be the first to find out about them.
In January we ran our swim and hike day in South Hunsley.
We went for a fun swim at South Hunsley swimming pool, once we got out we had lunch and prepared for our hike. There were 2 walking groups, the first walked 3 miles around Welton Wold , the second group walked a massive 5 1/2 miles.
In February we will be cruising down the canal with our canal cruises.
In March we will be descending to the depths with SCUBA Diving.
In April we will be taking to the hills with two walksthe first of our adventurous walks for the year in Ingleton and a Londesborough Ramble.
In May rocking with 2 rocky activities;
- Our second adventurous walk at Gaping Gill with a walk round Ingleborough Cave
- Bouldering at Brimham Rocks
In June we are going to have a wheely good time on a bike ride.
Julys activity is To Be Confirmed, but we should be at Bungle-ee at Doncaster and I am sure we will plan something else in.
In August we will be rocketing off with our Space themed summer camp with rocketry, nights under the stars, games, crafts and more planned.
We will also be planning a Cubs beach day so there will never be a dull moment in the holidays.
In September we will be reaching for the stars at our September camp with crates stacking.
In October we will be taking part in JOTI (Jamboree on the Internet) and hopefully this year JOTA (Jamboree on the Air)bl
In November we will be making light with firework displays, Fire Boats and Fire lighting.
